Supporting undocumented and asylum-seeking immigrants.

Open my eyes that I may see the needs of others

Open my ears that I may hear their cries.

Open my heart so that they need not be without succor.

Let me not be afraid to defend the weak because of the anger of the strong

Nor afraid to defend the poor because of the anger of the rich.

Show me where love and hope and faith are needed,

And use me to bring them to those places.

And so open my eyes and my ears

That I may this coming day do some work of peace.

By Alan Paton, South Africa United Methodist Hymnal #456

About ASIP

All major world faiths require welcoming and caring for the stranger, alien, and needy with love and compassion.

Many persons of faith are alarmed and distressed by the increasingly inhumane and unjust treatment of immigrants at the border and in our communities. Out of this background, Ames Sanctuary Interfaith Partners was formed in 2019 to join together with those moved by their faith and by a desire for active support and engagement with immigrants in need.
